Art Journaling with Brian Kasstle

100.00

Art journaling is a form of mixed media art in a book or journal. Art journaling frees you of many of the pressures of traditional art forms as it is more specifically the process of expressing and learning about yourself while creating very personal and unique layouts...the stories of your life.

Brian Kasstle will share his wonderful techniques for telling our stories through the many layers that parallel the many layers of our lives.

Finding Yourself - Join us for a day of exploration to discover YOUR style in art journaling. Working with copies of childhood and/or family photos and other images you feel a connection to such as a tree, a chair, or other special object(s), we'll use paint, paper, pens, markers, found objects, and image transfer techniques to enhance your layouts. This workshop is all about developing and exploring your unique voice through style, color, image, and words. For everyone, all skill levels.

Brian was raised in Montana amongst the mountains, trees, streams and rivers, which gave him a love of nature. He studied art at the University of Montana, then moved to Southern California where he has continued his art studies. He credits art journaling with giving himself a deeper understanding of himself and his emotions and is passionate about sharing the process to help others develop as artists.

Brian lives with his partner, Ed, and three Maine Coon cats, who love to sit upon his journals.
